We have been born into an immense global initiation that is beckoning us to evolve our internal and external systems towards liberation for all. These conditions are calling us to wake up to our greatest purpose and live in each moment with the courage, gentleness and tenacity it takes to contribute who we truly are to this world.
We invite you to give yourself the gift of slowing down and entering into earth-time with a small group of fellow soul travelers to be witnessed, supported and celebrated as we cycle through the moons and seasons together. When we enter into conversation with gaia and align with earth-rhythms, the answers that we seek can arrive in unexpected ways while new sacred questions emerge. The more that we delight in, honor, and willingly accept life’s invitations, the more that we can engage in a heart-centered dialogue with the soul of our true selves and the world. Each part of our personal awakening becomes a contribution to the wholeness and healing of all beings.
We humans are the youngest ones at the earth party. It is essential that we return to our more-than-human elders and ancestors: the birds, trees, waters, mushrooms, rock and soil, to re-member our most unfiltered truths and to be shown pathways of resilience in these times.
_______From “What is a 3-day solo” Section…
Our 10-day trip is centered around a three day, three night ‘time-out-of-time’ where you leave human community and enter deep into the realms of the wild world, holding close to your heart your most precious prayers and questions for your life. From here, you enter into the greater earth-song & dance, opening a conversation with Life for three days and three nights at your sacred spot. We use the term “earth communion,” rather than “solo” because you are truly not alone. We choose not to use the term vision fast or vision quest to mark that we are not offering a traditional or indigenous ceremony.
Earth communion is based on our training and mentorship through teachers connected to the lineage of School of Lost Borders and Animas Institute, who have popularized a western ceremony for soul-initiation in the wild world. We are offering something that is uniquely Wild Wisdom, born with inspiration and gratitude from these lineages.
The Earth Communion experience will bring you into deep contact with the earth and the elements, and is a time outside of ordinary time for you to be with yourself, your soul, and the big prayers and intentions of your life. Your experience will unfold as you are out there, but you may begin preparing the moment you say yes to the journey…
These ceremonies are good for marking shifts from one chapter to the next, internally and/or externally. Notice where your growing edges are. What is beckoning you forth? What do you know to be true that you have been scared or unsure of how to embody? What patterns, beliefs, or habits are needing to shift in order for you to more fully claim your life? What amends need to be made, repairs, renewals, or vows claimed? What emptiness or voids need to be filled with love, beauty, forgiveness or connection to the wild ones/spirit?
Each person who comes to earth communion brings with them their unique and potent place in the family of things, and yet, we always find that we learn and grow as much from our earth communion time as the time with one another. Our time of preparation and integration from earth communion includes letting ourselves be witnessed and seen as we gather around fires, join our voices together in song, bathe in crystal clear waters, and share our tears, pain, laughter, and growth with each other.
From “the grounds we stand on”…
We recognize that as we revitalize and experience the joy of our innate connections to this earth, we also face the complexities of the historical context we have been born into, of our personal ancestries, and the ancestry of the lands on which we stand. Wild Wisdom supports the healing of settler-colonialism and the complex web of reclaiming our connection to this beautiful earth.
We are in the continued journey of learning how to best stand in solidarity with California first nations people in efforts towards rematriation - the return of indigenous knowledge, ceremony and pathways to the mother/land. The recent historical context of California, and the people of this land is complex, brutal, and riddled with painful stories of conquest and oppression. We recognize that the places we are forming new connections with have been tended, loved, and lived upon for generations by the original inhabitants of those lands. Towards the aim of rematriation, we aim to grow connection with local indigenous organizations and offer a percentage of our proceeds to projects happening in the territories where we hold Wild Wisdom programs.
In our journey together we may explore and reconnect with our own earth-connected (and earth-disconnected) ancestors. What traditions were or were not passed on? What animate and spiritually connected relationship did our predecessors have with land? What traditions might we unearth related to that connection? Living with these questions can lead to rich sources of learning and healing of our ancestries and those yet to come.
From “we welcome you”
We Welcome You
Healing Space For Womxn: Wild Wisdom is a womxn centered experience, connecting participants to their innate power and the sacred feminine of the earth. Through our time together, we open a healing space to reclaim our deep connection to our bodies, the natural world and a community of womxn. This supports healing from wounds of patriarchy and sexism that have historically kept womxn separate from the earth and each other. We recognize that the word womxn is expanding and gender fluidity is a welcome part of our journey together.
Physical Ability: In terms of physical ability - we accept participants that can carry a 30-45 lb backpack for up to 7 miles over rugged terrain at elevation.
Diversity in a natural ecosystem creates strength and, we believe, that at our best, this is also true for human systems and communities. We hold the vision of a multi-cultural space where we can share across difference and each be lifted up in our identities. And yet, as we acknowledge the trauma of separation that this country has been built upon and that many of our ancestors have faced (slavery, genocide, prejudice), we know that diversity and difference in a community often stirs up wounds from our past. |
Your two main guides, Sarai and Caitlin are both white, mostly hetero, cisgendered women. We are committed to creating an open space and support for all who feel called to join us, and acknowledge that there can be discomfort for folks who are from identities that are marginalized in our culture at large, in having your core leadership not share your life experience.
Part of our application process is ensuring that each participant is committed to creating a space that is inclusive and celebratory of our multiple identities. At the start of our program we will create group norms to support the creation of a space where all can claim and celebrate the beauty and power of who they are and also surface when there are tensions. We are happy to talk with you more about this in your interview and answer any questions.
